Brewdependence Day at Hardywood

on Thu, 06/07/2012 - 3:27pm
Wed, 07/04/2012

Come help us celebrate the new liberty of VA breweries to sell glasses of beer on-site. We'll be featuring the release of our newest beer, SB 604, a 3.8% ABV American Special Bitter served in commemorative mason jars, live music from the People's Blues of Richmond, and great eats from your favorite RVA food trucks and carts, culminating in 4th of July fireworks over the Diamond.

Hardywood's Independence Day Celebration will be open to the public and there will be no entry fee. Bracelets will be available for people 21-years of age and over to sample and purchase beer. Special draft and cask ales will be available exclusively at this event.

Bring your own lawn chairs or picnic blanket and grab a prime music/fireworks viewing spot in the nTelos Field across the street from the brewery. The street will be closed to through traffic during the course of the event, but both sides of Ownby Lane will be available for free public parking.

The event organizers and local food carts have worked hard to offer a great selection of food, non-alcoholic beverages and beer. That said, guests may bring picnic food, but may not bring grills of any kind. As per Virginia law, absolutely no outside alcohol of any kind may be brought in or consumed at this event. A team of police officers will be on-site as well as non-uniformed risk management personnel to ensure full compliance with all state alcohol laws. All coolers, picnic baskets, and bags are subject to inspection at any time.

The fireworks will start immediately following the Flying Squirrels game at the Diamond (approximately 10:30 PM). The nTelos Field across the street from the brewery, a prime viewing location for the fireworks, has been secured for event attendees. We encourage guests to bring their own lawn chairs or picnic blankets. Personal sun shades, umbrellas, and small tents are permitted.

As this event is likely to be crowded, very hot, and loud, please leave your pets at home in the air conditioning. Service dogs permitted.

The tasting room in front of the brewery will be set up exclusively for the sale of tee shirts, hats, glassware, openers, stickers, other merchandise and bottled beer. Growler fills will be available at the front bar in the warehouse (closest to the loading dock doors).

To help us gauge potential attendance numbers for planning purposes, please RSVP on Facebook if you think you'll be able to join us. Facebook event page:
