The Dominion Energy Charity Classic 5K is returning to Hardywood Brewery – West Creek to kick off the countdown to the 2025 Dominion Energy Charity Classic! Since 2016, the tournament has generated more than $14 million for local non-profits. Keeping the spirit of the Charity Classic, 100% of race participant entry fee (entry fees are not tax deductible) will go to a participating Birdies for Charity organization selected during registration.

Spectators are allowed, and Hardywood will be open to the public for anyone to join once the race concludes. Make sure to grab a refreshing craft beer, enjoy live music, and eat at a local food truck after you cross the finish line.

Pat Keefe is a dynamic force in Richmond's music scene as the lead singer and guitarist of the bluegrass/folk quartet, Dalton Dash. Known for his heart-driven songwriting and energetic performances, Pat's musical journey began alongside bassist Justin Doyle, with whom he formed Dalton Dash after meeting at Radford University.

Pat’s creative roots run deep, with the band’s debut album, Ass, Cash, Dash, or Grass, featuring his personal life experiences. He wrote all nine songs on the album, blending fast-paced bluegrass with introspective folk ballads. Tracks like "Laugh For A Change," an ode to human connection and openness, are among Pat’s proudest moments of songwriting.

Beyond his musical talent, Pat’s passion for community is evident. Since moving to Richmond, he and his bandmates have contributed to the city’s vibrant music scene, frequently collaborating with local musicians and hosting open mic nights. Pat’s dedication to the local scene has fostered a sense of inclusivity and camaraderie within the group.

As a performer, Pat's soulful vocals and intricate guitar work bring Dalton Dash’s lively and heartfelt music to life, capturing the spirit of both celebration and reflection.

Hailing from Richmond, Va. The Dan Schutt Band (pronounced Shoot) is a funky blues-rock band that always gets the crowd dancing and the party started.  The Dan Schutt Band performs a catalogue of high-energy and recognizable tunes, influenced by rock, blues, country, jazz, and reggae.  The Dan Schutt Band is truly one of the finest acts currently performing in Virginia and never fails to deliver an exciting and memorable performance.  

Django Tango is a Richmond-based jazz swing trio formed to celebrate the music of legendary French guitarist Django Reinhardt and the Quintette du Hot Club de France. Guitarist Russ Hanchin leads the trio alongside guitarist Chris Vasi and bassist Carter Blough.

Caroline Vain is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist located in Richmond, VA. Since graduating from London College of Music in 2021 with a Masters degree in Music Performance, Caroline has released three original singles and performed in venues across London. 'A Song for You', 'Casual Love', and 'Better' are a brilliant introduction to Vain's versatility as a songwriter, and showcase her ability to blend introspective and poetic lyrics with memorable hooks and captivating riffs you won't mind getting stuck in your head.

Known for their powerhouse performances, the Hotpants round out Roark’s dynamic songwriting with the fiery tones of fiddle, electric guitar riffs, funky basslines, and tight harmonies. You are cordially invited to join Hardywood West Creek and Greater Richmond SCAN for Trunk or Treat Sunday, October 26th, from 12:00-4:00 PM.

What is Trunk or Treat? Trunk or Treat is a different spin on Trick-or Treating where local businesses/organizations and community members park and decorate the trunk of your car and pass out candy as kids “trunk or treat” from car-to-car. Trunk or Treat allows kids to have all the trick-or-treating fun without crossing streets or worrying about traffic. In addition to trunk or treating, guests can enjoy family friendly fall activities, food trucks, and enter a raffle for a chance to win a few awesome prizes! Hardywood West Creek will be donating 5% of all beer sales during the event to Greater Richmond SCAN.

How to get involved: Registration for each car is $15, with 100% of the proceeds going to benefit Greater Richmond SCAN.

Please arrive between 10:30 AM- 11:30 AM for set up, taking into account how long you need to set up in your planning!

All treats to be passed out must be made in a commercial kitchen or factory production. Hardywood and/or Greater Richmond SCAN will inspect all treats prior to distribution. Please bring at least 1,000 pieces of candy. We do see large crowds for this event, and are increasing the number of trunks we have this year to ensure there is enough for everyone.
