LIVE MUSIC: Ian Blackwood
Ian Blackwood is the founder and writer behind Blackwood Station. He was raised in the Finger Lakes region of NY where he grew to love the freewheeling and experimental nature of 60s album rock from his father’s extensive record collection. After moving to Richmond in 2014 he focused on honing his talent as a mandolin and fiddle player in the local alt-country scene and currently performs with Woody Woodworth & The Piners and Dogwood Brothers.

Tristan Dougherty is a folk musician and songwriter based in Richmond, Virginia. Richmond based acoustic trio “Whiskey Richard,” is made up of Lee Francis on acoustic guitar and vocals, Clay Bowles on lead acoustic guitar and vocals, and Brandon Grimm on mandolin and harmonica. The group focuses on classic Folk, Country, Bluegrass, Americana, Blues, and Rock n’ Roll, covering the likes of Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, John Prine, Kris Kristofferson, and Merle Haggard alongside acts like Bob Dylan, Neil Young, The Rolling Stones, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, The Allman Brothers, and The Grateful Dead, with a few surprises sprinkled in between. The ninth annual Gingerbread House Challenge dares local businesses, nonprofits and friend groups to form teams and display their holiday spirit and creativity by constructing a gingerbread house based on a central theme.

Your piece will be customized to your space, your style and your vibe! 40 colors are offered during the workshop and all instruction and materials (wood, letters, greenery, bows) are included in your registration. You'll start with a blank piece of wood and turn it into something that you can be proud to display - ZERO artistic ability is needed! Workshops last approximately 2 hours.

Ben Butterworth
Ben Butterworth of Richmond, Virginia has been writing and performing his own original music for more than a decade. From bluegrass to psychedelic country, from merch guy to front man, from Montana to Miami. Over the years, Ben has been in several bands and projects; ranging from bluegrass with The Inflatables, to psychedelic country in Captain Grandpa, and most recently with Ben & The Bajas. Ben has a knack for putting together great musicians, and regardless of the ensemble name, you can always bet on Ben’s band to be fantastic.
In November of 2021 Ben independently released his debut solo album - Purgatory Emporium. The album consists of ten original songs, steeped in Ben's southern musical traditions and flavored with a wide range of influence. Many of the tracks explore feelings of loss or feeling lost, being stuck between self-actualization and self-destruction, hanging out in a limbo…a flux. Somewhere between now and then, in a thrift store between Heaven and Hell. Welcome to the Purgatory Emporium.
In August of 2022, Ben was part of WNRN’s Dead Air 3, celebrating 25 years of independent radio and the music of the Grateful Dead, on stage at The National in Richmond, VA. Ben Butterworth has shared the stage with Illiterate Light, Hackensaw Boys, David Wax Museum, Palm Palm, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Keller Williams, Toubab Kewe, Larry Keel, Carolina Chocolate Drops, The California Honeydrops, and more, performing in bars, theaters, and bandstands across the country.

Madly Backwards is a rock band from Richmond, VA. Electric guitars, vocal harmonies, and deep grooves wrap you in the swagger of a well-worn denim jacket. They draw equally from indie rock, Americana, jam, and psychedelic music for a distinctive sonic palette and then deliver thoughtfully crafted songs in a high-energy rock show. The band is built on the songs of songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Eric Sites. The lineup is rounded out by Alex Martin on drums, Matt Morin on bass, and Jon Rasnake on lead guitar with all members featuring on both lead and backup vocals. Along with a solid set list of original material, the band maintains an extensive cover catalog, all delivered with the band’s signature sound.

2-11 is a high-energy rock band that prides itself on a repertoire that spans material from the roots of early rock and roll to blues, R&B, classic rock, alternative, and select original material. 2-11 has been performing a multi-set tribute to Paul McCartney/The Beatles and they continue to weave that material into their standard shows. The 4-piece power group consists of a team of multi-instrumentalists who all take lead on the mic throughout the night. LIVE MUSIC: Tin Can Fish Band
Tin Can Fish Band started as the duo TinFish in 2006, with acoustic singer songwriter Steve Fisher and longtime friend, Colonial Williamsburg tavern musician, and mandolin / fiddle player, Doug Austin. While primarily performing Steve's original songs, TCFB draws from a wide variety of folk, rock and roots material ranging from public domain and Bluegrass to Americana and World music, as well as works written and performed by various TCFB members. Drummer and percussion player Jack Taggart and (Circuit Rider/Single Bullet Theory) bassist and longtime musical cohort, Keith MacPhee combined with TinFish to form TIN CAN FISH BAND in 2012, and the band was off and running. Veteran Richmond guitar favorite John Leedes (King Solomon's Marbles/Squalor Hollow Boyz/Blue Line Highway, Kooler Heads, and CLJ) joined TCFB in November 2013 followed by Joe Conner (Blues Cats, Blue Line Highway) on Accordion and keys in 2014 to complete the unique acoustic electric blend. After steadily performing for over 10 years and putting out 3 CDs, Tin Can Fish Band's infectious spirit, engaging shows and distinctive musicianship is cultivating a strong following in central Virginia and beyond.

Andrew Magruder
Andrew Magruder is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and producer based in Richmond, Virginia. He has been playing live music in and around Virginia for 10+ years. Andrew is a seasoned fiddle player with vast experience in country bands, folk duos, and bluegrass groups. Producing with local artists over the last few years, Andrew has developed his music production and is scaling to larger projects.
James River Junction Duo
Daniel Glymph and Mike Nadder of James River Junction deliver an intimate, acoustic-driven set that blends Southern Rock, Americana, and bluesy grit. Featuring raw vocals, soulful guitar work, and fresh takes on JRJ originals alongside crowd-favorite covers.

Big Red & The Cowboy Killers hails from Richmond, Virginia and brings a storm of psychedelic rock. They bring a mix of powerful lead vocals, thundering-rock, jazz, and R&B to the forecast with the possibility of choice covers. Keeping it spacey and smooth in the high register is the powerful lead guitar combo of Will Taylor and Vincent Steenburgh. On the low end, you will find Aaron Wright keeping things grooving. On the kit, you will find none other than the legendary Mook.

Bristles & Design - Watercolor Workshop
Join us for a fun and immersive 2-hour watercolor workshop where you'll discover the magic of watercolor painting! Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your skills, this hands-on session is designed to help you learn essential watercolor techniques while giving you the freedom to express your creativity.
In this workshop, you'll explore five unique watercolor techniques. Each technique will be demonstrated in detail, with personalized guidance to ensure you feel comfortable and confident as you apply them to your artwork.
To help you get started, you'll receive a set of 36 vibrant watercolor paints and 10 high-quality brushes to experiment with during the class. These tools will empower you to create beautiful, professional-looking results as you work through the exercises.
Throughout the session, you'll also have the opportunity to paint on three pre-drawn designs printed on watercolor paper. These drawings serve as your creative foundation, offering a perfect balance between structure and freedom. You'll be able to add your personal flair, whether you want to stay true to the design or use your techniques to make it uniquely yours.
By the end of the workshop, you'll not only have gained a deeper understanding of watercolor techniques but also a renewed confidence in using them creatively. You'll leave with three completed pieces of art, new skills, and the excitement to keep exploring watercolor painting on your own!

About Kelly Jones
Kelly is a Richmond native who recently moved back after living in Austin, Texas for the last decade. Kelly's yoga practice began slowly at the Midlothian YMCA in her early teens and continued through her time at VCU. After graduating she was lackadaisical about her practice until 2017 when a fire was lit through her discovery of hot power vinyasa. Yoga quickly went from once a month practice to daily practice. Yoga began to transform her life in ways she'd never imagined. It created a space for self-awareness, healing, and growth that came exactly when she needed it.
Kelly recognized what a crucial part yoga began to play in her life physically, mentally, spiritually, while also providing her with the most beautiful new community. She then knew that it set her soul on fire to spread this passion in an attempt to impact just one person the way yoga had changed her life for the good. In 2018 Kelly became a registered 200-hour hot power yoga teacher with Corepower Yoga and has consistently continued her education since through various yoga schools.
Upon returning to Richmond Kelly went on a search for the right studio to call home, trying nearly every studio she could find. From her very first class at 3S she knew she had found her home!
Kelly hopes to bring her students closer to their highest selves beginning on their mat. She encourages growth of the physical and spiritual self and practices presence through breath in her flows. She loves to incorporate her vast love for music into her classes.

I believe that music should move the listener. I believe that music should captivate the listener. The music that I make is created with the intention of making you feel something. Not necessarily what I'm feeling, but something...anything.
Music can preserve a memory just like the rest of our senses. Whether it's the strain of the voice, the feel of the drums, the warmth of the bass, everyone has that one song that when they hear it, they're transported to a different time and place. I want my music to take you wherever you want to go.

The RVA Old-Time Jam has been running for 10+ years, and is a place for the community of Richmond and nearby areas to gather to play music together! We play mostly Old-Time Appalachian music with its roots in pre-bluegrass dance music. The jam is open to players of varying levels and ages who play acoustic stringed instruments, such as fiddle, banjo, guitar, mandolin, and bass. It is led by several experienced musicians, and we aim to play outside when the weather cooperates.

LIVE MUSIC: Peyton Alley of The Barons
The Barons is a US alternative band comprised of lead singer and guitarist Peyton Alley, drummer Mathes Glymph, lead guitarist Josiah Ragland, and bassist Kirtland Gray. Forming in 2016, the Virginia natives’ repertoire include various sounds ranging from heavy-hitting indie rock to a lighter fair of introspective love songs. The band’s most recent record “rock! or go to the association.” embodies both the beauty and destruction that coexist in The Barons’ sound. The tunes have allowed The Barons amass a following among colleges on the East Coast as well as supporting alternative acts such as Judah & The Lion, The Aces, Barns Courtney, and Catfish and the Bottlemen.
